Hello and welcome back...

I would like to reintroduce myself to everyone and it’s been going on two years since I wrote on the blog. As you all know, my name is Larry N Young and I have been working to become a professional writer for some time now. My work is now been published thought high voltage comics that I has started and I hope to have more books out soon. Like I said at the begin of my first blog, this site will serve as a portfolio of my life's work. It is also a showcase for my upcoming projects so I will be updating on a regular basic. Please join! Well the basement is now cleaned out and it only took 4 days to do it. Well as I said last week, I was going to post some art work to books that are being published through High Voltage Comics. Here are the covers to Shadow Rider book 2 that I printed and it it's now over at Ka-Blam, just in case someone wanted to pick one up. Next week I'll be showcasing a lot more other books I'm working on.

Last night we had a very bad rain storm and today was going to be a family fun day and we were going to go out to Portland and make it a special day. But I woke up to fine the basement flooded with water and I thought I would drop a quick note before I continue cleaning up the basement and next week I'll have a few pages to show you all.

Once again I'm going to start updating my weekly log entry every Saturday and I want to go back to posting on a regular schedule. It's been way too long since I write in my Blog and a lot has happened in these past months. So this is what’s been happening in my life at this moment in time. I’m been out of a job since May 4th 2009and I’m busy looking for a job as well as working on a few projects as well a spent time with the family.

Shadow Rider 2 is back from the printer and Shadow Rider book 3 is back from the artist and soon it will be heading over to the colorist.

Angelica the Demon Huntress book 2 is going to also be heading off to the colorist as well and hopefully I'll should have Shadow Rider book 3 and Angelica the Demon Huntress book 2 out to the printer before December.

I’m still working with an artist a graphic novel on Red Arrow Mystic Warrior and if everything goes right, it should be out this summer and I’m also working with another artist on another graphic novel that’s called The Chronicles of Fusion City and hopefully it should be out a little while after the first graphic novel comes out and I'll have a few pages to both of them next week.

I'm going to start updating my weekly log entry every Saturday again and I want to go back to posting on a regular schedule. It's been seven months since I write in my Blog and it's seven month too long and a lot has happened in these past seven months. 1: The mini poster for Shadow Rider and Angelica the demon huntress has been printed up and they both are over at indyplanet. 2: Shadow Rider book two has come back from the artist and all it needs is to be colored and lettered. 3: Angelica the demon huntress book two is off to the colorist and after that, the lettering will need to be done. 4: I have an artist working on a graphic novel called Red Arrow Mystic Warrior. It’s based on a short story by Ron Fortier. The story is about an evil demon trying to break free from it's imprisonment to unleash evil into the current world and only an Ancient warriors with some campers can stop this from happening. The artist has e-mailed me some character sketches and they all look great and by the end of this month, he'll be e-mailing me 10 finished pages. He'll be working on 10 pages a month till the graphic novel is finished. I'll be showing the character sketches and pages very soon, so please keep and eye out for that. I'm also working on a Shadow Rider book three and Angelica the demon huntress book three as well as a few other books and graphic novels and I'll be keeping you posted on them as well. So come back next week I should be posting a few pages from Shadow Rider book two.

I'm still in the middle of printing up Angelica The Demon Huntress over at Ka-Blam. I had a small problem with a few of the pages and now they are all fixed and the book is ready to print. If everything goes right, I'll have Angelica The Demon Huntress up at IndyPlanet very soon and a few copies to sell as well.

Yesterday I placed an order to have a mini poster for Angelica The Demon Huntress print a over at Ka-Blam. The size of the mimi poster will be 11X17.

Yesterday I went down to Staples and had business card made up and I think they came out very good.

Killing 2 birds with one stone...

Hey first off, I'm not going to really kill any Birds off (That would be sick and it wouldn't be right to hurt any kind of animals.) Now for some good news, well after almost 3 years in the making,(That's from early script to finished pages) here's the Angelica The Demon Huntress proof copy . It's finally back from the printer and does it looks sweet. I should be getting a lot of them back from the printers no later then October and ready for the comic cons around New England. So please keep an eye out for them . I think it will be worth the wait.

My first comic con

I went to my first comic con in Chelmsford Mass on August 3rd with my good friend Ron Fortier and we had a good time. I shared a table with Ron and I had a chances to sell a few books and talk to some people while I was down there.

I have some good new to report. I'm in the middle of printing up a sample book to Angelica The Demon Huntress over at Ka-Blam, they are the same printer who did Shadow Rider and Legends of the Spellbinders. Free comic book day and May day in Kennebunk Me

Yesterday was Free comic book day. The family and I headed over to Rochester, NH to Jetpack Comics to pick up our free books. While we were there, we then went over to the Rochester opera house to see a few people dressed up as Star wars characters. There was Jabba the Hutt, Boba Fett, two stormtroopers as well as two people dressed up as Jedi Knights. We went back to Jetpack Comics and I had a moment to talk with my good friend Ron Fortier before heading back to Kennebunk Me. At the Kennebunk Library, they had a Faerie House Exhibition and my daughter, Annakah, made a Faerie house. Her house was a beach theme with a playground. Each child recieved a certificate for entering and each got a blue ribbon for something unique about their faerie house. Annakah got a blue ribbon for "BEST MOONBEAMS".

Another week has come and gone and I received more page to the new Shadow Rider book. These are a few new pages from the upcoming 8 page story to Shadow Rider called "The Unluckiest man alive" The pencil pages are from Pow Rodrix.

Here's a new colored page that was done and by Pow Rodrix and the coloring was done by Nephtali Andres Leal Garza.

Shadow Rider riders on...

Well I'm halfway over a bad cold I've been having and now I can get back to doing the things that need to be done. I receive a few more pencil pages from Pow Rodrix and they all look good so far and the rest of the pages should be coming in soon and I'll post them for you to see.

Back on track

I'm back once again and hopefully for good this time, I'm going to start updating my weekly log entry every Saturday again. I want to go back to posting on a regular schedule and now with this crisis finally over in the Young Family's life. I can now move on with bring Shadow Rider and Legends of the Spellbinders to comic book stores as well as going to any upcoming conventions.

The evolution of a comic book publisher Logo...

Yesterday I received a quick cover sketch and a quick comic book page from an artist who's working on the upcoming 8 page back up story to Shadow Rider that called "The Unluckiest man alive" and I'll share the pages later on with they are done. I'm almost finished writing the script to the second book to Shadow Rider called "Doomsday plus one" and I hope to have this book out before the end of summer.

I thought it would be cool to show the evolution of a comic book publisher Logo. I worked on the first design and Blake Wilkie who worked on the finished design and I would love to know what you think of it.

Both books are in and I can't wait to take them around to comic book stores and to comic book conventions. I think that Ka-Blam did a great job on printing them up and I can't wait for everyone to take a look at them. Here's more good news to share with you, I'm just found an artist to work on an 8 page back up story to Shadow Rider that will be called "The Unluckiest man alive" and I'll share more information about that later on. I'm also still in the middle of writting book two to Shadow Rider. The second book will be called "Doomsday plus one" and it will shed some light into Shadow Rider past and why he became a bounty hunter.

The Internet was up and down for 13 very long days this month. When it was working, it was slower than dial up. I'm still waiting for my first major order from Ka-Blam so I can start to sell them at comic book stores and at conventions when they come to my area. I was going to post this on Saturday night, but my Internet went down till this afternoon. Both books are now printed and ready to order. That's right!!! Shadow Rider and Legends of the Spellbinders are now up at (http://www.indyplanet.com/). On Friday, I received some great news from a very good friend of mine. Ron Fortier wrote a great blog about me and High Voltage comics on his website http://www.airship27.com/. You should check out his website. He updates it every Friday. I met Ron around 1985 when I wanted to be an artist. But later on I changed my direction and stuck to being a just a writer. Ron's a great guy and great writer to boot. He has helped me out in many ways and I couldn't have gotten to this point without his help. (And you too Heidi ;^) She is my wife and my editor for 16 years now and she means the world too me and I don't know what I'd do without her.

Ka-Blam who I went through for a printer, just e-mailed yesterday and told me that Shadow Rider and Legends of the Spellbinders have been printed and shipped out to me!!! I have them print up a sample book to see what they would looks like and I'll be ordering more by the end of next week. The evolution of a comic book page part 6...

Two things happen in my life 15 years ago this mouth and one of them affected me more then the other. On November 18th, Superman died in the comic books and three days later I was married to Heidi. On Wednesday we celebrated or 15th years together with our two children. (Wow I can't believe how fast the years have gone by.) I just hope the next 15 years I'll become a better husband and father to my family.

As you all know by now, Thanksgiving was on Thursday and I hope everyone had the chances to spent it with family or friends. We went over to Dover and spent some time at my Aunts and Uncle's house for their annual Thanksgiving dinner and there must have been over fifteen of us at the table. (Nothing better then spending time with the family.)

Yesterday was black Friday, but instead of going out shopping with the rest of the world, we decided to stay home and decorate the Christmas tree and here it is...

I know I said this before, (About 5 times before this one) but this is one of my favorite things I like about working on a comic book. Here's page 11 to Shadow Rider from stat to finish.

All the lettered pages to Shadow Rider have came back and it looks like Shadow Rider will be the first book to be printed under the label of High Voltage Comics. Now all I have to do is add the logo to the cover page and send it out to the printer. So please wish me luck and soon I'll show you all what the cover page looks like.

I hope everyone had a save and happy Halloween. We had fun going door to door two nights in a row and they collected lots and lots of candy. First off, Heidi and I took the kids out to Dover NH on October 30th for Trick or Treating or what we call Beggar's Night and last night we went out Trick or Treating around Kennebunk and Arundel. Well here a photo of my children before they went out to scare the local townfolks. The one in the hockey mask is my son Thomas and the one in the leather face mask is Thomas good friend Adrian and the young girl is my daughter Annakah.

The great news on "Shadow Rider" is that all the pages are now colored and ready for the letterer and they should be done no later then the middle of November and ready for the printer soon after that. Once again, the pages was done by the talented artist of David Llorente Cortés and colored by the talented artist of Guillermo Ucha. So if all goes right, then this book should be back in my hands no later then Christmas.

On other news. Ill be taken the family to the second annual Zombie mile walk this afternoon if the weather holds out. I hope to have pictures of that later on today and I'll post them when we come back home. This will be happening on upper Central Ave in Dover NH between the hours of 3Pm to 4PM. So if your in the neighborhood, please come on down celebrate the spirit of Halloween.

100th anniversary of scouting...

Today we went to Oxford Maine to celebrate The Maine Boy scout jamboree. It's a celebration to honor the 100th anniversary of scouting. This year there's a huge celebration in London England but because it's so far away and not everyone can attend, Pine tree council decided to have their own. hundreds of scouts gathered from all over Maine and New Hampshire for this weekend event. We drove for 62.7 mile and it took us 1hr 14 min to get there. We accidentally missed the exit and had to turn around but it was worth it. The leaves were vibrant with yellows and reds. The scenery was breathtaking. We were there for most of the day (Because my son Thomas is part of Troop 33o of Arundel Maine.) and they had a lot of things there to celebrate the spirit of Boy Scouts.

Here's page 14 to "Shadow Ride". I know I said last week was going to be the last page I was going to show, but I know showing this page won't spoil the ending to the story. 1st anniversary

As of October 10th, it marks my 1st anniversary here and a lot has happen in one year. From my daily live to my journey to becoming a published comic book writer.

On the home front, my son Thomas made 1st class in Boy scouts and he's now a Freshmen in High School and he's growing into a wonderful young man. My daughter Annakah is now a Junior in Girl Scouts and she's now in the 4th grade and she's growing into a beautiful young woman and Heidi and I are so very proud of both of them.

On the comic book front, Shadow Ride and Angela: Demon Huntress are 80% to 90% done and with a few more pages, they should be off to the printer before the end November.

Thomas graduated from middle school this Monday and Heidi and I was so very proud of him. I would have posted this on Tuesday, but I had to work until today. I can’t believe how time is flying by and only four more years and he’ll graduate from high school. I think Thomas is growing into a well minded handsome man who someday will take his place in the working world and I hope for the very best from him on whatever he does.

After hitting a small speed bump, Angela: Demon Huntress is now starting to slowly move forward . Today was a proud day for the Young family. My son spent the weekend at Camp Hines . He and two other scouts in his troop were voted to join The Order Of the Arrow. It's another level of Boy scouts. He had to spend the weekend working on his Ordeal which involved alot of hard work and NO TALKING (which is a hard thing to do..ha ha) He pulled it off as you can tell by the pictures. Three cheers for Thomas. (now hopefully Eagle!!)

I didn't realize how long it was since I updated this sight last. Man time is flying by faster them a speeding bullet. Just to keep you all updated and at this time. I'm still waiting for pages for the artists I'm working with and I hope to have some pages from them very soon. Yesterday I was looking through some of my old files on my computer and I came across this drawing. This is something I did when I wanted to be an artist a few years back and I thought I would post it so everyone could see it. I think this was the last one I did before I settled down on begin a full time writer.

Just like the song said. "The waiting is the hardest part" I'm now just waiting for a few artists to finish up working on coloring Angela: Demon Huntress and Shadow Rider and if everything goes right, I should be about to get these books printed up very soon.

In other news, due to the heavy snow that has fallen over new England on April 5th. We were one of the unlucky 111,000 customers of CMP (Central Maine power) to lose our electricity. From April 5th around 6:00 Am to 4:30 PM on April 6th. I forgot how hard life is without electricity and how we depend on it in so much in our daily lives.

It's now the day after Halloween...

I hope everyone had a happy holiday and made it back to their homes safe and sound. Well here are more photos of Annakah and Thomas from a small party we had at our home the other day. Oh by the way, the red hair girl is Olivia and she's 6 years old. She's our great niece on my wife side of the family. I took Thomas and Annakah Trick or Treating last night and once again they made out like bandits. Remember it's now only 22 days till the next holiday, man time is going by too fast.

I took my kids out to Dover NH with my wife Heidi on October 30 for Trick or Treating or what we call Beggar's Night. This is where I grew up as a child and it brought back a lot of good memories. My daughter Annakah age 8, was a Witch/Vampire and my son Thomas age 13 was a character from the movie Scream. We had fun going door to door collecting lots and lots of candy. Well here are a few photos of my children before they went out to scare the local townfolks.

This 13 page short story is called "Shadow rider" It has an old western movie theme. It's the typical good guy bounty hunter trying to ensnare the bad guy with a classic showdown with a twist to it.
